Today I received my Doctoral Degree Certificate from the Dean of the School of Social Sciences.
The new semester started and I’m looking forward to an interesting seminar on “Successful Learning – An introduction to applied learning psychology” that I’m teaching.
Also, I’m preparing two hypotheses that are required for my defense in addition to my thesis. Furthermore, I’m working on a paper that I wish to submit soon.
There are many to do’s on my list for this semester. 🙂
On your marks, get set, go!
I will give a talk on my dissertation at the TeaP 2010 in Saarbrücken. The title of my talk is “Distributed practice in school: The role of storage and retrieval processes in the lag effect”!
I’m looking forward to the conference!!!
Yesterday was my poster presentation which was successful and fun. I talked for about 2 hours with a Ph.D student from France who is also engaged in distributed practice. We had a fruitful discussion about the problems and the challenges in this research field. It was super nice to talk to someone who is interested in the same thing.
I hope that we keep in touch. 🙂
In general, the conference is going well. In addition, the venue and the city are amazing and I’m looking forward to the next two days.
Today the dissertation proposal was due and I handed it in successfully! 🙂
Next: Preparation of the service learning seminar that I will be teaching in the fall semester.
Today, my two studies finally ended. 🙂 Thank you to everyone who supported my research by participating in the study!
And also: Thank you to Kerstin Mertz and Jana Scheible for their help with data collection! 🙂
My abstract submission got accepted for the ESCoP 2009 in Krakow. That means that I will not only attend the conference but also present my current research during one of the poster sessions!
I’m pretty excited about that! 🙂
Again, I will spend some hours in the computer lab to run subjects for my study.
Preliminary results will be presented in the CDSS Colloquium on May 18th, 2009.
Take care,
CAROLINA
I’m currently working on my dissertation proposal which is due June 2nd.
This encourages/forces 😉 me to allot time to write down what I have done so far.
That is a good feature of attending Grad School.
Take care, C.
This year is dedicated to grad school courses, my dissertation proposal, and experiments. I will have to take 6 grad school courses this semester which means a lot of work and writing. In addition, I will have to hand in my final dissertation proposal by June 1st, 2009.
Also, I would like to attend a summer school and a conference this year. I still have figure out which ones though. Any suggestions?
Thus, things will keep me pretty busy!
